Maria Ladurner began her musical education with the precollege program at the Universität Mozarteum Salzburg, studying with Barbara Bonney. She then completed her Bachelor’s degree with KS Edith Lienbacher at the Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien. Maria went on to earn her Master’s in Baroque singing at the Universität Mozarteum Salzburg under the guidance of Ulrike Hofbauer and Andreas Scholl.
Maria Ladurner feels equally at home on the opera stage and as a concert singer. As a highly sought-after specialist in Early Music and historical performance practice, her repertoire includes numerous well-known and lesser-known works from the Renaissance to the High Baroque, but also extends through the Classical and Romantic periods to the Modern era.
Maria’s passion lies in Early Music. She regularly performs with ensembles such as Lautten Compagney, Ensemble 1700, La Barocca, L'Orfeo Baroque Orchestra, Art House 17, Ars Antiqua Austria, the Kölner Akademie, and the Finnish Baroque Orchestra. Collaborating with renowned musicians such as Alfredo Bernardini, Michi Gaigg, Ruben Jais, Wolfgang Katschner, Gunar Letzbor, Dorothee Oberlinger, and Jordi Savall further enriches her career.
Maria Ladurner made her stage debut at the age of 19 as Barbarina (Le Nozze di Figaro) at the Teatro Sociale Trento and at the Tiroler Festspiele Erl. Her engagements have taken her to Staatstheater Nürnberg, Bonn Opera, Markgräfliches Opernhaus Bayreuth and Neue Oper Wien.She has also performed in concerts and productions at the Konzerthaus Vienna, Brucknerhaus Linz, the Berlin Philharmonie, and festivals such as Festival Oude Muziek Utrecht, Mozartwoche Salzburg, Styriarte, Resonanzen, Carinthischer Sommer, Innsbrucker Festwochen der Alten Musik, Thüringer Bachwochen, Musikfestspiele Potsdam Sanssouci, Misteria Paschalia Krakow, Trigonale, MA Festival Brugge, and Händelfestspiele Göttingen.
Maria Ladurner’s discography includes numerous recordings, including her debut album Arias for the Emperor, the solo CD madonna mia, and the world premiere of Bononcini’s Polifemo under the direction of Dorothee Oberlinger, which was awarded the Opus Klassik 2021 and Diapason d’or/decouvert. The world premiere recording of Giuseppe Scarlatti’s I portentosi effetti della madre natura received the Opus Klassik 2024. In 2024, the world premiere of the opera L’Huomo was released, where Maria took on the lead female role as Animia, which won the Preis der Deutschen Schallplattenkritik.
Maria Ladurner is a winner of the H.I.F. Biber Competition. With her ensemble Mozaïque, she won the 1st Prize and Audience Award at the Handel Competition in Göttingen and the competition of the Rheinsberg Music Academy.
Lied singing holds a special place in Maria Ladurner’s repertoire and heart. She has deepened her expertise in this field through masterclasses with artists like Angelika Kirchschlager and Christa Ludwig, and as a two-time scholarship holder of the Oxford Residential Lieder Masterclass. Maria regularly performs Lieder recitals, including collaborations with Florian Birsak and Christoph Hammer.
Maria Ladurner is highly experienced in historical stagecraft and gesture, which she has demonstrated in several stage productions.
